WIAW #66: Sundays {What I Ate Wednesday}

There’s something about Sundays. There’s always a little more time to sleep in. A little more time to enjoy a good breakfast. And a little more time to just enjoy being. I love a relaxing Sunday and it was especially needed after my crazy week last week. Here’s a little peek into my Sunday by way of my meals. If you want to see more WIAW posts, check out Jenn’s blog.

Breakfast

oatmeal

I really wish I could sleep in, but with puppy motherhood comes early morning wake-up calls. We’re lucky if we can get Koji to sleep in until 7am. So after getting up at 6:00 to let Koji out for a bathroom trip, I took advantage of a sleepy puppy to sneak in 2 more hours. Around 8:30 I woke up and made breakfast before sitting down to enjoy CBS Sunday Morning — our family’s Sunday tradition. I made a big bowl of egg white banana oatmeal, plus a big cup of cappuccino. I’m LOVING my new Keurig Rivo (review coming soon) for making lattes and cappuccinos. A little more time calls for a good coffee.

Keurig Rivo

After breakfast I cleaned the whole condo. It had been a couple weeks since the last cleaning and our place needed it, thanks to Koji’s shedding fur. I usually clean our place once a week on the weekends. It really doesn’t take me more than an hour and a half, 2 hours tops. I’m pretty good about keeping it tidy always, so there’s never any crazy mess to clean up. There are a couple areas I will clean a few times a year like underneath the stove top, on top of cabinets, the oven, and closets. It’s never too overwhelming. Plus, cleaning 650 sq/ft. is a lot easier than a whole house.

Snack

larabar

A cherry Larabar on the way to shopping. After finishing cleaning I ran errands which included grocery shopping and spending my birthday gift card at Lululemon. I have to be honest, I’ve never bought anything from Lulu before this trip. I tend to be a bit clinical about my running clothing purchases. Will this last me years? Can I wear this for multiple seasons? Is it versatile? Will it last? Because I tend to wear my workout clothing into the ground. I finally threw out a ton of old leggings and tops that I’ve had for YEARS, so I’m in a bit of a need of running clothes, especially warm weather things. Well, I ended up loving Lulu (Bitty, you were right.) I walked out with two Cool Racerbacks one Swiftly short sleeve T. Couldn’t say no to this bright coral color.

Lunch

turkey sandwich

With a full fridge and an empty belly I dove into lunch. I made a turkey and cheese sandwich on whole wheat with some cucumber and pineapple on the side. This held me over nicely before yoga at 5.

Dinner

taco salad

After yoga I was starving again! Dinner was a favorite — taco bowls made with ground turkey. Bernie and I sped ate so we could have enough time to fit in two episodes of True Detective before bed. We’re officially all caught up now. Obsessed!

Dessert

ice cream

Since it was Sunday and we have to kick off the week right, Bernie and I shared some of this pint of Ben and Jerry’s Chubby Hubby. So good.
